She was Christened in the Church of England as a baby but never went to church. Her home was basically non-religious, but her parents did send her to a convent school. Later in life she became interested in spiritual things and sought the truth in Christian Science. When her husband's job took her halfway around the world, she found herself worshipping with a startling group of people.
